Women Writers Represent Outstandingly in the Writing World and the Blogosphere

by Bridget Wright on December 14th, 2007

trophy.jpgWant to learn how to become an outstanding writer? What about starting your own blog? Want to know how the pros do it? Ever wondered how some writers really score the big jobs and get saucey writing assignments? Well here is one resource that you can turn to if you want to get first-hand, professional information from some of the best in the industry: professional blog writers with the majority being female writers.

According to Michael Stelzner, author of Writing White Papers, choosing the winners was a a very detailed process, but primarily focused on the quality of the content on their blogs.

“The nominees have been carefully examined, with the greatest weight on the quality of their content. What follows are the top 10 blogs for writers. These blogs all provide rich content and extremely useful information for writers.”

Learning to be an effective female writer or blogger can be challenging, but not for the infamous Deb Ng, over at FWJ. Her presence in the blogworld has been around for some time and she has come to be a authoritarian at her craft.  Deb won 2nd place with the coveted “Top 10 Blogs for Writers - 2007/2008″.

Also in this elite category of outstanding blog writers in 6th place is b5media’s very own Anne Wayman. Anne blogs wonderfully over at The Golden Pencil giving writing job leads and sage advice on how to find lucrative writing assignments. I visit her blog at least twice a week. She never has a lean job pool.

Joining them both are some other fierce female bloggers who also snatched a few of the top ten spots:

#3 Place - The Renegade Writer - Linda Formichelli and Dianna Burrell

#5 Place - Web Writing Info - Courtney Ramirez

#7 Place - Catalystblogger - Jennifer Williamson

#8 Place - Freelance Parent - Lorna Doone Brewer and Tamara Berry

#9 Place - Write From Home - Amy Derby

All of these women are an inspiration to me as a blogger and a writer and an invaluable asset to the blog world. Even though I know Courtney and Deb from the chat forums over at www.wahm.com, I am so proud of ALL of the female writers who have positioned themselves to represent over 60% (7 out of 10) of the top sites for information for aspiring writers and bloggers. Their hard work, content-rich informative sites and their dedication to helping others gives us all hope and lets us know that there’s room for us at the top.

I want to be just like them when I grow up!
