Keyshia Cole - - Doing Business In A Man’s World / Part II
Yesterday, I talked briefly about how Keyshia Cole says she balances being an artist and a businesswoman. She feels that we as women have to do business the way men do business in order to be successful.
I don’t agree.
While I do agree that women need to be firm and decisive when in business, I don’t think that we should change our personalities or coping mechanisms just to level the playing field.
See the thing about it is that women who are businessleaders have to be 3 things:
- focused - know what you want and where you want to go.
- firm - make decisions and stand by them AND DON’T CHANGE.
- consistent - do one thing, do it well and do it often.
There is no need to change who we are and how we deal with people. If you are consistent, people will associate that with excellent business skills.
No need to change who you are.
