Refrigerator Madness

There have been a rash of thefts from the employee refrigerators at work. The latest case occurred yesterday when someone stole an entire bag of salad. A giant sign has been placed on the fridge asking the person who took it to replace it.
I feel like a bag of salad has a lot of logistics involved, namely:
- Who eats a whole bag of salad at once?
- When one attempts to eat a whole bag of salad, what kind of container do you put it in?
- How does your stomach react to this much lettuce at one time?
- Do you also steal dressing or do you go without?
I am assuming that a whole bag was eaten since a partial bag was not returned to the fridge. If you stole the bag, would you take the trash home with you so no one would know it was you? You may be asking yourself if I stole the salad (no) or if the bag of salad was originally mine (also no).
The last time something was stolen (a frozen pocket Bistro sandwich), I spent an evening trying to remember if I had unintentionally stolen it. I determined the next day with the help of two co-workers that I had not done it (I’ve never purchased this brand of sandwich) even though I thought that I might have and had been feeling guilty. Did you ever read the Agatha Christie about the girl who confesses to petty crimes she didn’t commit?
