An Entrepreneur’s Life Of Distractions - - Or Inspirations?
Do you have trouble scheduling your work days? What methods do you use to ensure that you have a successful and productive day doing what you do?
Entrepreneurs have a rather interesting lifestyle. We work when we want, where we want and under whatever conditions we want (read: beach). With all of these wonderful working conditions, what do you find are your challenges when it comes to making your business work?
I find that in my writing life, the one thing I struggle with most is a defined, uninterrupted block of time where I can concentrate and write fully on a topic for at least 15 solid minutes. With the television going (have to watch America’s Next Top Model reruns), my children wanting to show me their latest art project and that load of laundry softly calling my name from the laundry room all serve as distractions when I’m really trying to buckle down and crank stuff out. But actually, these things sometimes give me inspiration. Contrary to popular thinking in one of my previous posts, entrepreneurs do really work but it’s just that we have such a flexible schedule, it would appear as if we don’t.
Are you inspired or distracted in your entrepreneurial life? Do tell…

Love it…I appreciate your honesty… Sounds just like my life…except instead of art projects I would be receiving calls from my son for help with his pants.
Cheers!

Lately I’ve been trying different schedules to beat distractions. Maybe the best one is where I get up at 4am and work until 7 or 8. I unschool so days are spent with my little and sometimes I can get stuff done after school when his friends come home but they do distract me so not much work really happens.
