7 Things You Didn’t Know About Kristen
Kelly at TaxGirl tagged Bridget and me for a meme on seven random things you don’t know about me. Seeing as how we’re all new here, this shouldn’t be hard. ;] But it will be fun! So, here they are!
- When I was a kid, my family raised chickens (and cows and pigs and honeybees, too), and I had a one with the most beautiful markings. Her name was Fancy Pants. She was dumb as a post, and hey, she was a chicken, but feeding her is one of my favorite childhood memories.
- I’ve never been to Disneyworld, but all that will change next week when I go on vacation in Florida!
- My first car was a 1987 Ford Escort that my grandfather gave me when he retired. I had it for about 6 months before one day, I pressed the accelerator to merge into traffic, and the transmission fell out. No, literally, it disconnected from whatever it was attached to and huge pieces of my car fell out onto the pavement. That was the end of the Escort.
- I forget to feed my dogs. Like just now, it’s after noon and I just realized that I forgot to give them breakfast. I’m a terrible mother!
- When I was 15 and visiting my best friend Megan in Arizona, we called the Jerry Springer show and left a message with a story idea that had something to do with her transsexual math teacher. But she left MY name on the message, which I discovered 2 weeks later when her mother called my mother because the Jerry Springer show had called their house looking for me for more information. Oh, that was a fun conversation!
- When I see parents yelling at their kids for no good reason at the grocery store or the mall or whatever, especially when I see a kid get smacked for doing a normal kid thing like asking questions or touching stuff, I fantasize about orchestrating a kidnapping and raising the little guy as my own because its real parents are too mean to have children.
- I think I have a hearing problem. My friend says to me, “kind of defeats the purpose,” but I hear, “be kind to the feet of a porpoise.” I still haven’t figure out what “something from the meat case, Linda?” was supposed to be…
